Membership Upgrade

The Membership Upgrade Framework of the Chartered Institute of Leadership and Governance (CILG) is a structured and strategic pathway designed to recognize professional growth, encourage continuous development, and reward excellence in leadership and governance practice.

CILG believes that professional development is a progressive journey, where individuals advance through clearly defined stages of membership based on academic attainment, professional experience, ethical conduct, and contributions to the field of leadership and governance. The framework ensures that all members are provided with opportunities to enhance competence, broaden influence, and achieve higher professional recognition in alignment with their career aspirations and achievements.

This framework is central to the Institute’s mission of cultivating ethical, visionary, and competent leaders who uphold global standards in governance, organizational management, and public administration. It emphasizes meritocracy, professional excellence, and accountability, guiding members from entry-level recognition to the prestigious Fellowship grade.

Purpose of the Membership Upgrade Framework

The Membership Upgrade Framework serves several strategic purposes:

  5. Global Professional Credibility:
    • Establishes members’ eligibility to represent CILG internationally, participate in policy dialogues, and hold positions of strategic responsibility within the Institute.

The Membership Grades and Upgrade Pathway

CILG membership is categorized into four progressive grades, each reflecting a distinct stage in professional and leadership development:
