CILG Annual Subscription

The Chartered Institute of Leadership and Governance (CILG) requires all members to maintain an annual subscription to ensure continuous access to member benefits, professional support, and alignment with the Institute’s standards of excellence. The annual subscription reinforces the member’s commitment to professional development, ethical practice, and active engagement in the leadership and governance community.

  1. Purpose of the Annual Subscription
  1. Sustain Professional Services: Funding the Institute’s programs, events, publications, and member support services.
  2. Support Continuous Professional Development (CPD): Ensuring members have access to workshops, seminars, webinars, and learning resources to maintain and enhance professional competence.
  3. Maintain Membership Status: Active subscription confirms membership status and eligibility for professional recognition, qualifications, and progression within the Institute.
  4. Enable Networking and Recognition: Participation in CILG forums, committees, and international networks is reserved for active members.
  1. Subscription Categories and Fees

The annual subscription is structured according to membership grades. Each category reflects the level of professional engagement, access to services, and recognition within CILG:

Fees are subject to annual review by the Institute’s Finance and Governance Committee.

  1. Payment Terms
  • Due Date: Annual subscription is payable at the start of each calendar year or membership anniversary.
  • Payment Methods: Online payment, bank transfer, or authorized payment channels designated by CILG.
  • Late Payment: Members who fail to pay the subscription within 60 days of the due date may have their membership privileges suspended until payment is received.
  • Refunds: Annual subscriptions are non-refundable, except in cases of overpayment or administrative error.

  1. Renewal and Membership Maintenance
  • Annual subscriptions are renewed automatically unless a member formally notifies CILG of resignation.
  • Members are responsible for updating their contact and professional details to ensure accurate records and communication.
  • Maintaining an active subscription ensures uninterrupted access to all professional benefits and opportunities for progression.
  1. Consequences of Non-Payment
  1. Suspension of membership privileges, including CPD tracking and event access.
  2. Removal from official membership registers after prolonged non-payment.
  3. Reinstatement is possible upon payment of outstanding fees, subject to review by the Membership Committee.

Note: Annual Subscription is paid by those who are Member already and different from membership fee for those aspiring to join

CPD Requirements for Members

CILG requires that all members, irrespective of grade, engage in CPD activities as part of maintaining professional standing and eligibility for membership upgrades.

  1. Affiliate Members (AffCILG):
    • Complete a minimum of 15 CPD hours annually.
    • Focus on foundational leadership skills, governance principles, ethics, and professional development.
    • Participate in workshops, seminars, online learning, and mentorship programs.
  2. Associate Members (ACILG):
    • Complete a minimum of 25 CPD hours annually.
    • Focus on applied leadership, governance frameworks, policy implementation, and project management.
    • Engage in professional courses, webinars, research, and collaborative projects.
  3. Full Members (MCILG):
    • Complete a minimum of 35 CPD hours annually.
    • Focus on strategic leadership, organizational governance, institutional reform, and advanced management practices.
    • Participate in executive training programs, peer-reviewed research, and policy forums.
  4. Fellows (FCILG):
    • Complete a minimum of 40 CPD hours annually.
    • Focus on thought leadership, global governance, mentorship, and contributions to the development of professional standards.
    • Lead CPD initiatives, publish research, and participate in international leadership dialogues.

Note: Members are required to maintain a CPD log detailing activities, learning outcomes, and reflections. This log may be reviewed during membership renewal or upgrade evaluations.

Types of CPD Activities

CILG encourages members to engage in a broad spectrum of CPD activities, including but not limited to:

    • Leadership, governance, management, public administration, and specialized training programs.
  2. Workshops, Seminars, and Conferences:
    • Attendance at professional events, summits, and forums on leadership and governance.
  3. Research and Publication:
    • Conducting studies, publishing articles, case studies, or white papers in leadership and governance.
  4. Mentorship and Coaching:
    • Providing or receiving mentorship to enhance practical leadership and governance skills.
  5. Professional Volunteering:
    • Participation in leadership, governance, or development initiatives benefiting organizations, communities, or society.
  6. Online Learning and Webinars:
    • Completion of accredited e-learning modules, webinars, and online professional development courses.
  7. Institutional or Organizational Leadership Projects:
